A Welcome Message from the Headteacher

St Mary & St Thomas C.E. Primary School is a one form entry Church of England Primary school with an intake of 30 children each September, we have a Nursery which offers 15 and 30 hours per week placements.

We are a convertor Academy and are part of a Multi-Academy Trust with St Ann's Church of England Primary School in Rainhill and St Michael with St Thomas Primary School in Halton. We believe that the freedoms academy status bring us, allows us to provide the very best education for all our children. You can find out more about our academy trust and policies by visiting The Three Saints Academy website:?three-saints.org.uk.

Our Mission Statement of 'Believe, Achieve and Shine' underpins everything that we do at St Mary and St Thomas. All our children and staff believe that they can achieve whatever they set their mind to, in our safe, caring and happy school.

As a Church of England Primary School we are committed to developing Christian values through all we do. We have very close link with St Thomas' Church and children visit church to celebrate all Christian festivals.

We believe in developing all areas of the children that we have in our care. We have attained outstanding SATs results over many years which are above the national average and we are proud of the work that our children, staff and parents do to achieve this. As well as high academic expectations, we want to develop other aspects of childrens' lives and we have excellent opportunities for children to be involved in, both during and after the school day through our excellent curriculum.

The curriculum we offer at St Mary and St Thomas is broad and balanced. As well as providing very high-quality lessons in English, Maths and the whole range of National Curriculum Subjects, we believe in developing the children's skills and interests outside of these subjects. We provide all children with the opportunity to learn Spanish and attend outdoor adventure activities, children also work with many different artists and musicians and attend a wide variety of educational trips whilst they are at St Mary and St Thomas. Through our links with schools in our Academy Trust our children are able to access more activities as the schools join together to provide value for money and share resources as well as a shared vision for their education.

St Mary & St Thomas is also the lead school for North West Maths Hub 3 and works closely with Northwest Learning Partnership. These links help us to offer support and best practice to ensure that as many children as possible can benefit from an excellent educational experience. You can read more about this work on the following websites:?North West Maths Hub 3?and?North West Learning Partnership?
